this is a huge list of some of the greatest voices of our generation...Diana Ross, Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin are at the top of course...and from that comes women like Donna Summer and Whitney Houston. Just amazing, accomplished songstresses!

Who isn't? But there is a lot of R&B, Blues, and Pop in there. Phyllis Hyman is the soul singer that I think of, but I would have put Etta James first, because she was my first fave. Aretha Franklin? You can't make me decide this one tonight.

It's hard to pick one female for R&B AND POP, because they are two different categories. For R&B, I'd choose Billie Holiday from your list, and I'd add Etta James, that you don't list. For POP, I'd pick Whitney Houston. And if I there was one who could fit into both categories, I'd pick Tina Turner.

Dionne Warwick's voice always calmed my baby when he was fussy so many years ago. I'd just put on a 45 of "Deja Vu" and instant peace! I'm still so grateful.
