What about making a dinner together, renting a few movies and playing board games togetther? Spending time with each other is a wonderful gift you can both give each other. If it's material gifts then my suggestion is a few itune songs, a cd you may want, a movie, a book, photo album, body spray the list could go on but really you are the only who truly knows what you would like.

You can always ask him to just spend some time with you. Like a father-kind holiday. Going to watch a movie or ice skating is always nice. Also something you both can make and have fun would be cool, like a scrapbook or something like that. We have been all taught that christmas has to be about material gifts etc... but spending time with ur love ones is also a good gift, specially since ur dad is leaving for a while. I hope i can help.

Just push the point that you don't need anything especially if money is tight.
It is to the point now that Xmas doesn't even excite me anymore. It seems to have become more of an obligation exchanging gifts then just spending time together. I was out of work one of the past holiday season and it was an issue with some of the family members (ones who married in the family) that there were no gifts for me to give away.

why dont you just tell him you love him and have a nice meal together. Does Christmas HAVE to be about presents?. My Girlfriend and I stopped giving each other gifts about 10 years ago. Trust me, Christmas will still happen.

Ask for one of the cheaper dvd titles from Walmart or Target - both stores carry halfway decent movies for under $10 and it will be something you two can watch together... just a little added bonus that money can't buy :)

you're 14. you could no longer might desire to fret approximately budgeting for Christmas presents. Christmas is so commercialized these days! circulate to the dollar save and purchase useful presents like image frames, candles, etc. in case you sense you could desire to purchase presents. you could make issues besides. there are countless craft shops around yet extra importantly, ask your parent(s) to help you.

tioletries, I usually ask for colone. It comes in all price ranges and some of the cheaper ones smell as good as the high priced ones. Or body power, just tell him I like to smell nice.
It is easy to find in any wal mart.
My husband usually asks for cologne or after shave.
We don't any more but we used to, celebrate the holidays.

Maybe you could just ask for a gift certificate to one of your favorite stores. That way, what ever he has to give, you will not be asking for more then he has. Or maybe a movie, or a cheap accessory to something you already have.
