ok. Not to laugh but no, I have an ice cream scooper that heats up so the ice cream is easy to get out!
ALSO....I take the ice cream out and let it sit on the counter for a little while.

There are times when the ice cream is too soft and at other time so hard that you need to use a steak knife but it does mean that one has to loose control.

when the ice cream too soft then refreeze it for some more time and when too hard why not use boiling water instead of boiling brain

I got one of those handy Pampered Chief ice cream scoops. It melts the ice cream by absorbing the heat from your hands. Works great unless your hands are cold.

Your freezer is set too low. Ice cream should be soft. Not too soft though...:) Good luck with the ice cream. Try nuking it for a few seconds..

LMAO!
You're a ticking time bomb aren't you?
Ice cream should be a joyous occasion.
Have everyone sit around the table, hand out spoons and start passing it around. One spoonful then move it to the left.

I overwintered in Antarctica one year.

we stored the icecream in the equipment shed, and when we needed it, we would put it in the feezer to warm it up enough to use it, otherwise you could break a crow-bar trying to serve it.

True!
