I know a person who collects EVERYTHING and you cannot move in her home. Some time ago, a mutual acquaintance told me that she came from a very poor background and now that she is making money on her own - she buys everything she "collects" (or wants) so that she will never have to go without again! This is just a theory on our part - does this make sense to you? Does me.

I'm a 3rd generation "pack rat" & I still can't answer that. My personal circumstances (divorce, etc) have caused me to lose most of my "things" and I feel as though a weight was lifted off of my shoulders. I'll be looking forward to seeing the rest of the answers to this question.
