While I won't bother to get into the whole good/bad controversy, there were several highly inaccurate statements made that need to be corrected.
He didn't have a balanced budget, he had record deficits. This particular myth seems to stem from the period of the "Dot Com Bubble" in the stock market that produced a temporary surge in capital gains tax revenues. The Clinton administration did a revenue projection based on that six month surge that showed that if revenues continued to increase at that rate for the next ten years the budget would be balanced. That projection was of course completely absurd. But, Bill's partisans in the news media seized it and quickly produced headlines claiming that he had "balanced the budget"
As anyone with even the slightest memory will recall, just after that the 'bubble" burst, and the Stock Market crashed.
The economy under Clinton was worse than under either the preceeding, or the succeeding Bush administrations. What Clinton did have was the same news media that produced the "budget surplus" telling everyone how great it was, despite all ecomonic indicators showing the opposite.
Finally, he didn't give us a period of peace. After he pulled us out of Somalia, after refusing to send the armored vehicles needed by our troops, he got us involved in military operations in the Balkans, were our troops had the disadvantage of not being allowed to return fire when they were shot at.
We were also attacked by Al-Qaida for the first time in 1993, and more than adozen more times during his presidency. These attacks killed hundreds of US citizens.
Despite this he took no action against either Al-Qaida or Osama bin Ladin.
If he'd had him extradited to face trial for the murder of Americans, something there was ample international precedent for, 9/11 would never had occured.
So, despite the beliefs of those Clinton fans with obviously short memories, Clintons 'legacy' is one of a wrecked economy, record budget deficits, and a terrorist threat that wasn't stopped in time to prevent 9/11.
All the wishful thinking by Democrats who want to forget the truth won't alter the facts.

Bill Clinton's experience as president is unrelated to Hillary Clinton's experience. Look at her Senate record for a more accurate test

Bill Clinton was a good president.
He was lacking in morals, and did some things as president that people took issue with, and which led to his impeachment.

As a president, he kept the U.S. out of war, and the country prospered.

He was no worse than Richard Nixon, who also did some good things during his term of office.

The way I see it, you pretty much know what you're going to get.
I mean, they were just President a few short years ago.
It will be just like stepping back a few years. Evidently, some folks dig that idea.

The way I see it is that Clinton balanced the economy, he cared about what was happening here instead of countries somewhere else and the people where happy. Now people are stressed out, paying through the nose for gas and our young men are being killed, for what?

He was average. Not revolutionary, but you know, kept everything going smoothly enough. I think he's ranked #21 in a survey of historians, which puts him right in the middle since we've had 42 Presidents. Not the best, but not bad either.

I believe she was involved in the presidency right along with Bill so yes, I guess you could say she had experience. I dont think Bill was a good pres at all, and as time passes, it becomes more and more clear.
To the poster below me:
Most all economists agree (and Bill himself admitted) that the recession was beginning before he even left office. Between the inherited recession and 911, Bush is getting a raw deal that he does not fully deserve when he is blamed for the economy.

BJ Clinton was president during the development and expansion of the technology industry thanks to the Internet. Honestly I don't beleive any one could have messed up our economy during that wonderful stretch of time. But he allowed China to purchase technology that enables them to target US cities with ICBM's, he ignored the growth of radical Islam even though they struck at US targets early in his tenure and they eventually grew to attack us here - so no I don't think he was a good president.
