It definitely looks that way. US is financially bankrupt.. "Poor" China holds about 1.7 trillion dollars more than any other country in the world.

Have to? Well....we have been, for years. An amount equaling into trillions upon trillions of dollars.
From what I understand about the whole situation, China owns roughly 70+% of the war debt, as it's been borrowed from them.
This, will give that nation the biggest open door the world has ever seen to economic warfare, and ownership, of another world superpower. They'll never have to let one soldier die to take control of our nation economically.
Rampant and unchecked American consumerism has been making this happen for decades.

Its no longer that he did no longer desire to. in actuality from his very own lips got here the justification that when the conflict, Iraq might pay for the u . s . freeing Iraq with their oil sales. I remember him saying precisely that. So it might land up costing united statesa. no longer something financially. of direction that wasn't pondering the fee of the armed forces manpower lost which of direction is efficient. Yes, we've tapped out our own banks so the Chinese and Japanese are our guarantors.

We have been borrowing from China and Japan to support this war for the last 5 years.
That is why the dollar is devalued in foreign markets.

Opinion: We've been bankrupt for so long and the American people didn't know about it. If we can not pay our bills, the next thing that we can do to solve our financial crisis is to go to war. With people's minds on war, who cares if our administration is crooked and corrupt. And, many blind Americans will be saying,
"The President and the new Bush-crony is fighting for our freedoms and for democracy! We should stand by them and their goodness. Bush is a good man and we love him! We love Rudy and Hillary too!"
"It really doesn't matter who we kill or how many, we're going to go to jail any way, so why not continue on in a lie, because people will support and back us! Kill'em before they kill us. Take this war to their shores, so we won't have to fight this war on ours!"
"Terrorist are always evil people! We need a strong President like Bush, because he fights for our freedoms!"
"Vote for Giuliani, Clinton (Hillary), or any other person who supports the Iraq War!"
"We need to kill more terrorist! And may be even some of our own!"
FIRST EDIT:
To Ben Wa. This war is illegal, criminal, wrong, and intentionally murderous. (1) We did not have to go to war as Saddam surrendered in 1990 (agreed to a peace accord of which the terms were created by our negotiation firm). (2) The Bush administration lied and allowed CIA operatives to distort the real truths behind Iraq. (a) Saddam did not kill millions of his own people. (b) Iraq did not have WMD. And (c) Iraq did nothing to violate US initiatives or resolutions. (d) The UN Resolutions that our nation had secured were secured by intentionally-known, false facts and so the UN Resolutions are not valid, legal, or binding. Yet, Saddam had complied with all resolutions!
SECOND EDIT:
sway, did you just give me a thumbs down? It's funny how when a person stands up for this country, its people and Constitution, other people will get behind a crooked Presidential administration and try to silence or discredit you. Such people should be prosecuted by the US Attorney for complicity and obstruction of justice. They should be prosecuted along with a very criminal US President Bush. If we keep track of who these people are, we may yet have a better nation!
THIRD EDIT:
Does anyone still feel that our President and people in his administration did no wrong?
FOURTH EDIT:
This war was not necessary and it did not have to be fought! The Bush administration violated the US Constitution and UN Charter in an effort to "get" Saddam! All along there have been people whose voices were not heard, who continually said that (a) this war was not necessary and (b) that this war was not legal or correct by ethical standards. That by pursuing this war, our nation becomes a nation of criminals and thieves. We become a lawless nation not adhering to the rule of law!
FIFTH EDIT:
buddhadharma02, we will be going to war with China, so this will (eliminate) take care of our debt to China. No sweat! Our President is smart enough to think about everything. Giuliani and Hillary will be no different, so a war with China is and has been the making for a very long time! Too bad for China. Stupid Buddha-heads, we are going to kill them all and forsake the Christian god in the process! And if you think that Hillary is fair, kind, compassionate, and just, think again! Rudy is the exact same way!
Please consider all of the above as being part of my answer to your question. "Is it true that we have no more money to finance Bush's oil war in Iraq so we have to borrow $ from Chinese?" This is a serious matter and so my answer is a bit lenghty.
SIXTH EDIT:
My exact answer to your question. Yes, it is true that we have no more money (and never had) to finance Bush's oil war in Iraq and much of this debt (2 trillion dollars) will never be paid. It can not be paid against borrowed Chinese dollars. By any accounting standard, we can not do this! We are over our head and in hock. Do you think that Congress cares? Never did and never will! Ps: I have an undergraduate background in accounting, business, international relations, and law.

We've been borrowing large amounts of money from the Chinese for years. They could break our backs by calling in the debt -- which would be foolish for them to do, but it's worthwhile to note that we have given them that power.
