I am extremely introverted, so severe that my wife thinks I am sick? I personally see nothing is wrong, and attempt to socialize for my wife's benefit, which does appease her. However, given the chance, I would prefer solitude to a party any day. This is absolute opposite of every other member of my biological family who are all socialites. I do not even want to go see them half the time. Is it wrong to be this way? Should I change?

No, you shouldn't change what makes you energized and happy. I'm really introverted and shy. Extroverts get their energy from socializing. I'm not like that and I like people more modest. But, you should try to do things that your wife likes like seeing family and everything. I do it even though it's painful sometimes because I'm shy. But I also like challenging myself and talking about interesting things with others.

I read a lot and my wife respects that but I respect her that we have to go out and do things sometimes. I've always longed for good friends but I'm probably too critical of them. I also enjoy my independent hobbies. Good luck and be who you are!

You're wife was okay with it when she married you, so why is it a problem now. No, don't change. . . be yourself.
