yeah i think his mom was outta line. im only 16, but god if he was smart enough to be safe about it, she should complain! or take them away, thats the worse thing she could do. if she was gunna do anything because she was shocked, she shoulda sat down and talked to him, not like, yelled but just made sure he knew what he was doing.
15 is young to be having sex, but everyone experiments in their life, even his mom im sure. she shouldnt be taking his condoms away, if anything she should have given him more to make sure he was safe.
i have to admit though, if my mom found condoms in my room she woulda smacked me silly. not grounded me though. haha
parents should really chill on their kids and condoms. if their responsible enough to have them, let them keep them and be proud.
oh yeah. and is it illegal for kids to have sex? its not rape if their both of the same age, and think back to earlier times people, LOTS of people used to have sex when they were young. HELL way back when, people used to get MARRIED and have kids before they were 18! its b/s people treat 15 yr olds like little kids.

His mom thinks she raised him better than that. Obviously kids are going to be curious and at least he was smart enough to think ahead and use protection but the fact of the matter is his mother doesnt want him having sex so young. Condoms are not 100% effective against pregnancy, you know that right? She thinks that by grounding him maybe it will teach him how serious she is about him not having sex. I lost my virginity at 15 and i definately was NOT ready. kids that young dont know the first thing about sex. Tell your 'homeboy' to just wait it out. the sex will be much better when he's 18 anyway, and it will make his mother less worrysome. its a win-win situation. no 15 year olds need to be screwing eachother, take it from me and dont learn it the hard way.

Ground him would be the last thing he would be facing if at 15 I found condoms in my son's room. You kids need to find something to do with your time. Puburity falls in and brains fall out. Yeah, kudos for thinking about safe sex but at 15, sex isn't safe. Too many scenarios with bad endings.
It's not so bad waiting for a relationship to truly enjoy the true feelings of two people, not just because your friends are doin it. What age did you indulge since you have a ready made supply.

ok hey im def not a parent first of all, only 17 here, but i mean come on you dont need to be having sex at 15, yes condoms are a good thing if your really are going to but seriously condoms are only 99% effective and thats when they are used correctly. At 15 im pretty sure there's a good chance that the condom wouldnt be used that effectively. Plus you have all your life to have sex, and if it broke your friend whos not a "bad kid" would end up potentially messing up his life and gf's by having a kid! so maybe just think about this from a parents point of view...and consider waiting yourself! kk?!

As a parent of a teenage girl I can totally see where your friends mom is coming from, but I would not ground my son or daughter.....I would talk seriously about the effects of having sex too young and the possibility of pregnancy and all the repercussions cause condoms break......all day long..? Then whatcha gonna do...? Good Luck and make very responsible decisions.

Teenagers and condoms is a very hot topic that no one can agree on. Some people stand by the idea that teenagers shouldn't have condoms because condoms=sex, some argue that they should because they will have sex anyway.
No one will ever agree because different religions/moral sets will never give in to the opposite idea.

He isn't a bad kid YET. Having sex at 15 IS being a bad kid. I think his mother was right.
If he is irresponsible enough to have sex without the condoms his mom took... he isn't responsible enough to have sex let alone become a parent.
2 weeks grounded is better than 18 years grounded being a parent!
GROW UP!

a mom and a dad would have diferent views on it. a mom is imagining her son getting some girl prego. a high school girl with a baby doesnt get very far in life sadly. the parents arent being overprotective they are just thinking about the whole picture.

Condoms do not work!!!!
I got pregnant twice while my hubby and I were using condoms and spermacide!
THAT's why his mom is freaking out because it isn't 100% effective. AND IF HIS MOM has to clean his room he is not ready to be having sex.
When he can clean his own room that he pays for with his job then he can have at it.
If you can't pay for all of your own food and housing expenses then you don't need to be having sex.
Sex is an adult activity, unless you can act like an adult don't do it.
