i think if the woman gets to choose to have an abortion and can do so without any say so from the father, than the father should get to sign over his rights and not have to support a baby he never wanted. this is such a double standard.... girls choose to have abortions everyday when the man has no rights. but if she chooses to have the baby when he doesnt want to, why should he have the right to pay for it??? BUT, the man would have to sign something before the child was born and never have any rights to it. he just can't walk out one day and not support the child.

If there is a valid reason for the mother to stop the father seeing the child, like abuse etc, then yes he should still pay & have no access. On the other hand if there is No valid excuse , except to hurt the other person, then no he shouldn't have to pay. Unfortunately some women do use their children to hurt the father. I have seen this happen on a few occasions with family & friends. The adults get so caught up in their own emotions & forget about what is best for the child. I think if money was the motivation a lot more children would get to see their daddy's.

He helped in the making of that baby. He is just at fault as she is. Now it's not up to him completely for her to get an abortion. If she doesn't want one then tough sh!t for him. But yes if she goes after child support they can do a paternity test, get results and go from there. If he doesn't want to pay then he can sign his rights over and doesn't have any responsibility to the child.

I'd say yes he should pay child support. He helped creat the baby and once the baby is here it's both of their responsibility to take care of that child so that society does not have to. He should have protected himself (even if the girl said she was on birth control pills if he did not want a child).

it takes 2 to make baby and it takes 2 to raise it and if the man does not want to have the baby.. he should pay child support.
if the man does not want a child then he should never sleep with a woman with out making very sure there are many protections to prevent this from happening.

In that case, he has the option to sign over his rights. Then he wouldnt pay child support, he would be just like any other stranger to the baby.

Oh, you bet! The man should DEFINITELY pay child support. It is his responsibility to pay it whether or not he is part of the child's life. He helped to produce the baby, so he should have to pay. If he doesn't, get the cops involved. By law, if he signs the birth certificate and if the baby's last name is his, then he HAS to pay.

I think he should be responsible for paying a support regardless if he wanted the child or not. I would wish the woman lots of luck actually getting the money from him though.

Yes if a man fathers a child he should have to support it. If he does not want to father a child and have to pay support he should make sure that he wears a condom.

Yes! If he didnt want a kid, he should have never had sex in the first place. He should have taken the proper precautions, or not even have had sex. He contributed to making the child, So he is LEGALLY suppose to pay child support.
