You can buy a casket on line, and have it shipped to the funeral home. They have to accept it, and it is much cheaper. Do not have the body embalmed. Cremation is recommended, and is the cheapest way out.

why does a funeral cost anything?
it's not like you're gonna bury someone in a gold box, coated with diamond plating and silver lining

i mean, just call all the dead person's loved ones, make a box, or buy a container from home depot or something, say your prayers, speech, last thoughts, etc, dig the hole yourself, and BAM. you're done

I requested to be cremated. Just put me in a card-board box and cremate me.Then spread my ashes where I liked being.

Seriously though, why worry about it.? You don't have to pay for it do ya? You'll be dead! Don't worry about it.
