It's been done many times. There are several trucking magazines out there that have done articles on just that. It's exspensive and time consuming. Most S-10 owners only put a 350 or smaller V8 in them. There's only so much room on an S-10 frame.

Yes it really depends on which motor you have and how crazy you wanna get. Mine was a 4 cyl truck converted to a 350, depending on what you want to do. Try to invest in a short water pump setup it gives more room for your fan if you run a mechanical one. good luck BTW the link up above is a good source or buy the conversion manual from Jegs or Summit.

yes.My neighbor has an S-10 with a 383 stroker in it. My cousin has a trike with a 327 in it. My Bro in law put a 455 Olds in a Luv. We are now putting a 302 in a Nissan Hardbody 4x4 .You are only limited by your imagination.

Buy a truck with a V8 in it already. Its too much of a headache to try to modify the S-10 frame to withstand the torque of the V8.

i built a v8 s-10"1996" there are motor swap kits for the s-10. i bought one and everything lined up perfect. there are lots of parts to build a v8 s-10. think about how much money you will put in to building one tho, it ads up quick!

hey if you got the time and the money, if i was you i would do it.

you would have to modify the whole truck to take the power of a v8, but it would awsome.

p.s. because that truck is so light it would be a rocket if you put a big ol` v8 in it.

it could be done... there's already a v6 in there... just gotta make a lil room

haven't been under the hood of a s-10, but if you look, and you think there's enough room, go for it

just be prepared to do some modding

So do it.
They fit.
Just make sure you get an engine transmission package that mate to each other and a ford 9" diff.
