Those questions pop up often, especially with new Mac users. The answer to both is no. One has to understand that Mac OS X, the operating system installed on every Mac, works differently from Windows. Its UNIX foundation prevents viruses from catching and spreading viruses. The exception to this rule is when you run Windows on a Mac. The disk partition where Windows will be running, and Windows itself, are at risk if attacked by a virus. The risk is limited to the Windows share of the computer, however. You may wonder whether infected attachments in email can affect you. The answer is no. Your Mac will refuse to execute the programs since they are not compatible with Mac OS X. One threat to your data, however, is a macro virus in office software such as Word or Excel. Unfortunately, Microsoft Office is universal and macro viruses definitely are. In short, don’t bother with anti-virus software for the Mac. Just keep your macro virus protection turned on in office suites and you are set.

A computer virus is not a medical virus. It is a program that hurts your computer by destroying files. These sources are just a FEW of the many sites that are out there explaining what a computer virus is. To access more sites, go to www.google.com, type in 'computer virus', and hit search. you will get a multitude of sites that will help you understand computer viruses. But the main thing to keep in mind is that the computer virus is not a medical virus, and even if you cuddle up and kiss your computer, (yuck), but if you were to, there is STILL no way for you to catch the virus.

The symptoms usually start with pink spots appearing on your screen and you will find that the more your stare at the spots the hotter you will feel. Your face will gradually move closer to the screen and before you know it you will be infected.

Usually a vigorous workout entailing a great deal of retail therapy may alleviate the symptoms.

ok usually it is from unreliable websites or trojans in the emails that you may get. hint use a mail carrier that has an virus checker like yahoo or msn but just be careful and don't look at porn... alot of sites have viruses hate to tell ya... so yeah and if you do get a virus download AVG free or SpyBot from download.com... and you might want to download it anyway so you don't get one unless you have another virus protector but yeah so no porn until after christmas! lol

I am a girl as you can see from my icon but i have a good answer:
There are certain things you can click on that include viruses
Certain sites
Smiley Central can give you a virus
iTunes for some computers
iconator *not all the time*

Make sure that you watch the sites you go on
they can contain viruses
if there are pop ups get off the site

Ah, the only way you can catch a virus from a computer is if someone sneezes on the keyboard before you use it.

Computer viri cannot be transmitted to most humans--in your case it might the first exception.

LOL, no you cannot catch a virus from a computer.

A computer virus is a program designed to delete files or mess up your PC...not a virus like humans have.

Just be sure to take plenty of medicine, otherwise you might catch the ctrl+alt+delete virus.

If your mouse is healthy then you should be okay.If it starts throwing its arrow erratically across the screen your in danger.Put it in quarantine and sprinkle cheese around the computer whilst chanting "I love my mice's to pieces"and just hope for the best.Good luck.
