$20 - $5O In Iowa. Get a baby one though. Adults have trouble adjusting to new owners. Females end up being easiest to handle!!

I've never paid more than $50 for a hedgie. Petshops do jack up the prices tho, because most people dont know to look elsewhere. Most hedgehogs I found in the paper. The one I have now came free from a friend who could no longer keep her.

It depends on where you are. In NY they're about $120 or more if you can find one in a petstore. But from a good breeder they're significantly less. Here's a link with a list of USDA breeders in the US to help get you started.

They also have a list for Canada and Europe if you're in either of those.

A hedgehog is a wild animal. In California, it is against the law to have a wild animal for a pet, unless you have a permit.

Come to think of it, I don't think there are any hedgehogs in California.

Where are you writing from?

I've never seen them for less than $120 in the Midwest here.

I think they're around $100-$120 per hedge.

Here in Montana they run around $70.00, and I would read your classifieds from your newspapers and see if you can find someone who breeds them and get one from them.
