*shrugs* So the parties are crooked and corrupt. The old saying holds true: if you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the problem. If you don't like the candidate, then pick another candidate.
Or better yet, become one. That's the whole idea behind running for office: you think you can do a better job than the other people running. And if you don't think you can, then you find someone who could and persuade them to run. And if you can't find someone, then you pick the candidate you like and support him or her.
This is how elections are supposed to work. We do our jobs, and things get better. We don't, and things get worse. But complaining about who's fault it is, or saying "Don't blame me, I voted for the other guy" is about as childish as you can get. Pick your winner (especially if it's you), and get out the vote.

It is an illusion to let people think they have a say in how the politicians work for them. They stress it is important that you vote, but in reality, the politicians are paying attention to the special interests and lining their own pockets.

We are human beings that have some control over who protects us and makes these laws that we are living in. One has to do anything they can to make sure it goes that way. Yes they lie and back stab but wouldn't you want to take part in deciding it? Its better than not having any say in the matter...which other countries are like
