best way is to set up the sites you want them on, you have the password and let them know you will be keeping an eye on them*

Yes, I think they should be more proactive in catching online predators, and other predators in general. yes, it's a parent's and school's job to keep an eye on their kids activities, but they can only do so much. Like, for example, lets say I started up a conversation with a thirteen yr old, and I was a predator, how would anyone know, unless an adult posed as a kid and talked to me? It's not all that easy for a kid to know that they're talking to a sicko. And even if a child entertains the notion of speaking to an older person, they might not think that there are dangers out there. Oh, and another thing, Answers is pretty safe as I see it, but on myspace, if I search someone, I can get access to who's on their friends list, and if I have a friend, I can get this same info. I don't know much about computers, so if I can do that much, I can only imagine what a computer genius can do.

it seems to be a good idea. but my advice, it to keep them off these cites. i am 13(may not be best answerer to question) but i don't have accounts on any of the above cites, nor do any of my friends and it's not such a big deal. and if they like the chat thing i suggest vmk. Virtual Magic Kingdom it is run by Disney and it is very well protected. i use it and i meet my friends on it all the time. so overall yes it seems like that program will work just fine.
