I have been having pains in my lower abdominal for a few months now. First my doctors thought there was something wrong with my periods so they put me on birth control. They also thought I might have an ovarian cyst or I also had Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease. They checked for both but neither appeared to be going on. Then about a week and a half ago I woke up with horrible sharp pains in my abdomen, worse than they had ever been...I was literally screaming and crying because of the pain! I went to the doctor and they said I needed more fiber (which I don't understand, I eat enough veggies and fruits). But I immediately increased my veggie and fruit intake, along with other foods filled with fiber. Nothing helped. I was in the same horrible pain for the next five days. I had an x-ray taken, which came back completely normal! But I still get these horrible pains, always in the same place. It will randomly happen. But the doctors are telling me i'm fine! What's happening? HELP! I'm only 16

Sounds like endometriosis.
Be very pro-active with this until you get a diagnosis.
Endometriosis will not show up on an x-ray and rarely shows on ultra-sound. You will probably need an endoscope. This procedure is done under general anesthesia (you're put to sleep) and a small camera is inserted into your abdominal cavity. With the camera they can look around and if they find endometriosis they can cut or burn it off. You wake up with 3 very small incisions on your tummy that will have special tape on them - no stitches. This procedure is usually done in day surgery.
Good luck, honey. I know what you are going through.

Let me tell you that I have suffered from those pains since I was 15 years old and gosh they seem like labor pains. Well at first they said that my ovaries were dry. Did get that at all then 5 years later they found a cyst on my ovaries and tumors on my uterus.
Well the pains got worse that i had missed work a lot and I said that is it I can't live like that. So my doctor suggested getting a lapryoscopy I hoped I wrote it right. He wanted to do that it's an incision in your belly button he suspected endometriosis. Well after the surgery they found that I had that he said that I have to leave with the pains because there is no cure for that. So ask your doctor if maybe you might have that.If it's not a cyst or a tumor then check for that or maybe even UTI ( URINARY TRACT INFECTION)

It sounds like symptoms of endometriosis. I too had horrible and intense cramping and pain in my pelvis/abdomen mostly throughout my entire cycle (but especially around the time of my period) and nothing showed up on ultrasound, CT-scan, blood tests. I also experienced problems with my bowels (which I recently found out is IBS) and it wasn't until I had a laparoscopy done 6 weeks ago that I got diagnosed with endometriosis.

I would recommend that you get a second opinion from another doctor to see what they think is causing this.

Good luck :)

If you know there is something wrong then proceed with finding the cause until you get an answer. Medical technology today is most wonderful but there are many errors in diagnosing also. I'm no physician, but, I would suggest you keep going to all specialties until your problem is resolved or atleast identified! It's a good thing that you're even getting attention because many people would not and slough it off as something that will eventually go away. I hope you get better real soon. =)

Your symptoms sound like they could be related to endometriosis.

I would recommend getting another opinion and preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor you currently see.

I started having symptoms of endometriosis when I was 16 and didn't get diagnosed til I was 25.

I had the same problem. For me it turned out to be endometriosis. At that time I was only 19 and several doctors blew me off. I finally got the right doctor to listen to me, he did surgery and it was better. You're not constipated are you? If you don't have regular bowel movements it can cause problems like that too.

it could be appendicitis. It could be adhesions from endometriosis. Go to the ER to rule out appendicitis, and if they can't find anything wrong see a gyno. Good luck!

Earlier, I was reading about the same thing. Talk to your doctor about endometriosis.
