2-D: thinking inside the box, 3-D: thinking outside the box.

Never heard that before. Geometrically, 2D is all within one plane and 3D adds a dimension, making it a space. Applied to thought it should imply thinking that includes many more possibilities.

Technically, thinking inside the box is still 3D isn't it?
