I fell skateboarding today and landed on my left wrist...it hurt pretty bad when it happened, but I immediately tested to see if I could move it, and I could...the pain isnt really there much anymore, like I can push things with it, make a fist, type like im doing now, but it still hurts on the inside for some reason. I can move all my fingers, and when I was walking, I felt the blood rushing through my body, and to my hand and it started to hurt kinda bad...............any ideas?

if you have a high tolerance for pain it can be broken
i have done that a few times
if you wake up at night with it hurting really bad, or the next day the pain gets worse and worse, its probably broken.
one danger of wrist fracture is avascular necrosis, a subtle fracture can cause you serious problems so it is a good idea to get it x-rayed. even if the xray comes out clear, but the pain gets worse, get x-rayed again in 10-14 days to rule out subtle fracture that can cause permanent damage.
edit-ice is a good idea what the person before me said , but its 20min on/2hrs off///and no hot bath, ice = yes heat = please don't do it.

You don't say how old you are, but if you're 23 - 30, I'd say wait about a week & see how it feels. However - if you are younger - espcially if you are under 18, I would recommend immediate xrays just to make sure you don't affect future growth. Many times these things will heal up on their own, if it's just a fracture - or will feel better if it's a sprain - but if a child (or anyone who is not done growing) injures the growth plates in any joint, it can be bad news if you don't get it addressed right away. Why not be safe & see a doc - get an xray & follow up - you don't want to go through life with a bad wrist.

I'm pretty sure that you have a mildly sprained wrist. You need to go see a doctor. More than likely the doctor will wrap up your wrist or give you a wrist brace. In the meantime if it hurts or if it is swollen put ice on it in 20 minute intervals. Rest 45 minutes atleast before you ice it again. You could also have a hairline fracture in your wrist. What you should do is wrap it up in an elastic bandage like this
http://store.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFront/default.asp?CS=med101&StoreType=BtoC&Count1=823345363&Count2=740485787&CategoryID=1&Target=products.asp
1.than put the ice on
2.if you sleep w/the bandage on loosen it up so that you don't cut off circulation as you sleep
3.go to the doctor
4.http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/sprainsstrains/a/wristsprain_2.htm (follow these steps)
5.http://symptoms.webmd.com/default.htm (check your symptoms)
*switch steps 4 and 5
If you want you can find out more about sprained and fractured wrists by taping it in the space at the top of the page
I hope that this info helped you, and remember to go see a doctor. Oh and rest your wrist by not using it.(lifting things, writing with it,or basically using it at all unless you absolutly have to)
feel better
=)
(You may even get a cast, I did when I broke my arm/wristI'm not sure which)

Wow this is so familiar. Sept. 1st I fell while rollerblading. I was wearing wrist guards but I really messed up my wrist. Same as you, could move it. But it hurt tons. X-rays showed no break. It ended up being a torn ligament, and I was given a wrist brace (like a carpal tunnel brace) to wear, as well as pain killers and something to make the swelling go down. It took 8 whole weeks before my wrist felt decent enough to go without the brace for very long. It still is much weaker than it was. I would definitely go get a brace, and wear it regularly, even in bed, for a long time to give everything time to heal! You may want to rule out some kind of hairline break by going to the doc...

Ice bag on for 15 minutes and then off for 30 minutes. Advil for pain and inflammation before bed. You can also soak in hot Epsom Salt until the water gets cool.
If still hurting, get a wrist brace at drugstore or Walmart.
The one with the wrist guard in it to keep your wrist from moving for a few days.
My son plays football, so I know all the tricks!

Sounds like a sprain. Put ice on it and rest it. You might feel some comfort by wrapping it with an ace bandage.
Take Tylenol or Advil for pain as directed.

Ice it and keep it raised so the blood does not rush to it so much.
Get it X-rayed in the morning to be sure.
Take Ibuprofen to help with the swelling and inflammation.
These things should make everything feel much better.

You need to see a doctor. There are lots of tiny bones in the hand/wrist that can be broken or injured and have just this manifestation.

if it does still hurt, there might be some problems with your wrist. the best thing to do is go have it checked by a doctor. there might be no serious injury to it but if it does have some injury and you let it heal without correcting the misplaced part, it might get you into more trouble later.
