The injection may cause menstrual irregularity, spotting between periods, or no periods at all. Other possible side effects include; weight gain and increased rater of bone loss (higher risk of osteoporosis). It can delay your ability to conceive a child for up to 6 to 8 months after last injection.

Im in the same boat as you im 18 and have been on the depo for a year and a half and Now im Not going back for my next depo which is due 3 weeks from now,The Side effects are unbearable Now for me,Weight Gain(50lbs),Acne,Slight Darkning of the skin,Moodiness,Depression,Trouble Sleeping,Im Weirldly Nervous all the time,Period Completly stopped(i know some people like that effect but i hate it),So ANYWAYS in 3 wks im going to start using a detox called flor essence also im going to eat as much organic veggies as possible, along with moderate exersize also make sure to take vitamins because depo depletes your body of necessary nutrients....Well hope that helps.

Please don't get it again (its horrible).

The side affects will eventually go away.

I went on Kariva immediately after depo so the side affects went away not long after I started the pill.
