No one is addicted to fast food!! There are people who enjoy it! There are people who, for what ever reason, prefer it many times to other choices.

The term addiction is being used to infer that eating fast food is a bad thing, and that people have no control over it! Nothing could be further from the truth!

People make choices based on their personal want, needs, and desires. They may choose fast food because it costs less for a meal than the average sit down restaurant. They may choose it because, as the name implies, it is quick and easy. I would assume that most people choose it because they like the taste also!

Someone may patronize fast food establishments for many reasons, but this does not mean that they are "addicted" any more that a vegetarian is addicted to lettuce!

Because of the convienance and cost. It is basically just cheaper and easier to buy a combo meal than to buy and pack a lunch, Healthy food either costs more or is harder to prepare and transport. I am living in a barracks room with only a microwave and a George Foreman grill so I eat a lot of fast food, Everytime I go home I loose ten pounds. 70 more days now.
Also is the social stigma, It is ok to go to a fast food joint alone and sit down and eat. Do it at a sitdown restraunt and you feel like a tool, the staff treats you like dirt, or tries to cram you up by the smoke filled bar,

That may be their only option. Like truck drivers or people whose job is traveling. Its not necessarily that they're lazy but some might actually like it better than a home cooked meal. My cousin is like that. He works 2 jobs, has 2 kids, and he's divorced and that's all he eats is take out or something from a fast food restaurant.

Well, it's not so cheap to eat out to fast food resturaunts, but, think, there hungry in the car, it's late, won't expect to be home until and hour or two. the kids start whining. Then, you pass McKy d's. You eat it, and it taste great. Then, you just get into a habit on going to a fast food resturaunt right when your hungry in an inconvenient place, then, this turns into an addiction

The addiction to fast food is a function of everyone being so damned busy they have given up preparing food themselves. We have come to embrace mediocrity as the standard for restaurant dining, thus allowing Applebee's, Chili's, TGI Friday's, Ruby Tuesday's(must I go on?) to thrive. All these places provide is same crap, different location. If you can thaw food you can be a chef at any one of these!

Because most people are poor and fast food is cheap or some people have a tight budget so they can't spend to much. So they have no choice sometimes.

It is quick, cheap, convenient and tastey.
Oil, salt and sugar are the top three components to enhance the flavor of food.
Even if you go to a sit-down restaurant, you will notice that your pasta dish is noticeably more oily than you would make at home. This is because oil helps bind all of the spices together, giving you a more intense flavor sensation.
