Is it just me or does it seem like you can look at objects longer then people? This always happens to my friends and I. So why can you look at objects longer then people?

It's related to entropy. Try looking at a bowl of entropy, you'll find it easier to stare at a person.

(A bowl of entropy would be like a jug of molten iron or a little bit of the sun).

well objects don't stare back
while people do
and they dont have body language which may subconciously make you look away

because a person will give you back the stare or the look.duh

Because, people become uneasy when you stare at them.
