I am 61 and hubby is 69. We were married on May 3rd, 1969 and still going strong. His sister and brother in law are married 46 yrs and his brother and sister in law will be married 50 yrs next July. My parents were married 58 yrs when dad passed away and my husband's parents were married over 50 yrs when my father in law passed away. So I supposed commitment runs in our families.
We are practicing Catholics and I think that means a lot. However, our daughter was married only 8 yrs when she found out her husband was a cheater. She tried desperately to save the marriage, but he still snuck around, so he left her no choice but to kick his butt out the door. It devistated not only her and their two children but our family as well. My ex son in law came from a broken home and the bimbo he cheated with and is NOW married to came from a broken home......so they deserve each other. They have no guilt feelings whatsoever. As a matter of fact, she left her spouse after only 3 months of marriage!!
My daughter is dating a nice man now, but says she will NEVER get married again. She finds it very difficult to trust men. My youngest daughter is 30 and says what happened to her sister had a major impact on her and doubts she will ever get married. Sad huh?

Married hubby when I was 22 and still together at 46. That's 23 years. I am from a family of 8 and have 3 out of 5 brothers divorced and re-married, 2 still married to 1st wife, and two sisters still married to hubby number 1. So I guess our family is doing a little better than the national average.
By the way Mum and Dad are still together, and it been over 50 years.

I am 30 and, yes, I am married to the same wonderful man. We have been married for ten years and have three girls and another one on the way. When we got married, even though we were only 20, we promised that the word 'divorce' would never enter our vocabulary, and it hasn't. No matter what we go through, our commitment to each other is more important!

Ok this is not me personally I am 26 and married only a little under a year. But, I saw your question and figured that I would give this information. My parents have been married almost 30 years, they met in high school and were high school sweethearts. They were each others firsts, in many ways. They dated throughout high school and married right out of college. Also, both sets of my grandparents have been married over 50 years. My dad's parents have been married 51 years and my mom's parents have been married 56.

I'm 32 and still married to my husband who is also 32. It's pretty true, nowadays, people get married at such a young age, and the divorce rates are so high. But then again, there are still people who are with the 'traditions'.

I am 34 and have never been married.
I have no married friends. They all range from the ages of 32 - 39. None of which were ever married.
I do not know a lot of people who have been married for a long time! Sad, huh?

Going on 20 years Next Year. + 9 years that we dated. We have been together since 15 and 16. We cant live without each other. But its something we have to work at every day. But our Faith plays a key part in our relationship as well as our commitment to making it work and communication.
