Hmm, it does sound kind of strange. After a scan, Spyware Doctor will display the results of the scan. It gives you the option of ignoring, quarantining or deleting a suspicous file. Make sure you choose to quarantine the file.

Anti spyware programs are not always accurate. On ocassions, they incorrectly label a file as malware when in fact it is not - what many people refer to as a false positive -, which means you need a second opinon. Unlike antivirus programs, you can have more than one anti spyware program installed on your computer. In fact, it is advisable to have more than one. Why? Because what one program misses the other program picks up. Someone already mentioned trying another anti spyware program. And, it is a good idea. I recommend Spybot Search & Destroy and Lavasoft's Ad Aware. Both programs are free. You can install both programs without any problems. After installation, update them and then run a scan. If they fail to find anything then it is likely Spyware Doctor made an error.

If it turns out to be a false positive, just set Spyware Doctor to put the file in to the ignore list. BTW, if you are worried about dialers, be sure to have a firewall installed on your computer. Firewalls are your first line of defense against malware. Personally, I think your computer is fine. These days, you hardly see computers infected with dialers. They were a threat in the past but not now, which leads me to think that Spyware Doctor detected a false positive.

Maybe you didn't 'fix' the problem, it is likely that the spyware came with something you downloaded. Some add-ons for free content are recognized as spyware. For instance those little things that suggest web-pages you might like. Because they automatically access you're web history and then transmit parts of it over the net, in some cases it's not enough to delete the tracking cookie since it simply creates a new one, you have to remove the whole program. An extremely notorious form of this is those things you have to download so you can view "free" videos on the web.

Most likely you have a virus or trojan horse that's reinstalling the dialer spyware, and spyware doctor can't remove the virus or trojan. Make sure your antivirus is up to date and run a full scan with it; if it doesn't remove the problem, try an online scanner such as http://housecall.trendmicro.com which will scan for and remove viruses and spyware.

If the problem persists after that, download hijackthis from trendmicro and have it scan your system, then consult a professional who can analyze the hijackthis log for you.

Turn off System Restore. Load the application in normal mode but run in Safe Mode. Safe Mode can be started by continually pressing F8 during the boot sequence.

If you are badly infected you might need to run SuperAntiSpyware more than once to give you a totally clean system
