I don't buy the big issue the people who sell it make lots of money it's a con. Every year starting in October I spend a few pound a week buying socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, pants and soap and take it to my local homeless shelter for them to give out as Christmas presents and I know that the right people are getting it, one year I helped out with the Christmas lunch it was lovely and everyone was friendly. I haven't lots of money but you can get some great bargains. The people who run it are amazing and most are volunteers and never judge.

Most of the time the impact or condition of the homeless was already there and that's what made them homeless. Such as mental illness, all the addictions, etc. etc. They are really trapped in a nightmare.

The biggest impact is the massive vulnerability they experience. This then could lead to physical and mental illness, drug(both legal and illegal) and alcohol dependency.Emotional, physical and sexual abuse(both instigating and recieving)Loss of identity.Involvement in criminal activity(leading to possible imprisonment).Poverty and poor self esteem, self harm, depression and increase in suicide thoughts.Isolation from family,Friends and the wider community.Restricted normal development.Dependence(on outside agencies) not Independence.Limited life skills,no access to training and education and unemployment.Inequality of access to valuable resources would further impact on positive outcomes.

lots.. even if your not homeless, has an effect.
crime (stealing)
getting into drugs
getting ill thru poor hygene etc.
begging
violence from other homeless people and stupid idiots who like to pick on homeless people. normally chav's who on their own can't do anything and have to be in a group to do anything, and pick on defenseless people.
no one chooses to be homeless, its a chain of events normally..
and to all them NONE homeless beggers who beg to earn money and fool people.. I think your scum.

Well those without a home don't get to invite the family around for xmas dinner whilst those that aren't homeless do!
And those sanctimonious anonymous thumbs downers out there go fukc themselves and if they are feeling so benevolent invite their local homeless people around for xmas dinner - ya fukcin hypocrites.

I work in a young person's hostel, and many of the residents were sofa surfers, on the streets, in care etc. Many lives have turned around, with people going on to their own flats, with jobs, training courses etc.

its so sad, I'm mortified to think we have British citizens living on the streets and then a foreigner comes to the UK, they are welcomed with open arms, given a house and cash.
the mind boggles!!!!
