we learned in home-ec at school to hook on a safety pin to one end of the string and slide it through the hole and bunch it up a little at a time moving it towards the end. it should be done in less than a minute.

Do you have a safety pin? If not, get some next time you are out shopping--not the really tiny or huge ones. I'm sure they have them tucked away somewhere in Rite Aid or Walgreen's, or go to the sewing department at Wal-Mart or Jo-Ann Fabrics. Open the safety pin and stick a piece of the drawstring onto the pointy part of the pin, close the pin, stick the pin into the hole of the shorts, and push the pin and fabric with your fingers until you've weaved/worked the pin and drawstring all the way around the waist band. Good luck.

Poke a safety pin through one end of the drawstring, work it through by scrunching the waistband together, holding the safety pin in place, then straightening out the waistband again. Doing this should move it though until it goes all the way around.

Put a safety pin on one end of the drawstring, put that end through one of the holes in the front and slowly work it through to the other side.

Attach a safety pin to the drawstring and slide it into the hole. Bunch up the waist band and slide the safety pin through when you un-bunch the waist band. Do this until eventually the safety pin comes around and you'll be able to pull it through the other hole.

I hope you understand what I mean :)

Take a large safety pin and fasten it one the end of your string. Put the pin in the wasteband casing and start working it around. The pin gives you something to work with your fingers. Eventually, you will work it out the other side. Once your string is out the other side, if possible, tie a knot in it (and the other end also). This will keep it from coming out again.

Take a safety pin (size depends on opening) fasten it to drawstring and thread it through; grabbing the safety pin as you go. This "trick" has always worked for me.
