Yes,actually I remember a story my mom had told me about a man that had died, so a relative that was also a preacher decided he'd be the one saying the prayers and what not at the funeral. He told the family that the guy was going to hell, and there was nothing they could do to change that. that story disgusted me,how could he?! I didn't even know the dude.
I'm not sure if they fought over his stuff..I highly doubt it..but that alone was so disrespectful I couldn't imagine having actually been there.

Yes. Big time. My wife had a cousin that moved next door to a dying aunt a year before she dyed. After she dies, we found that he had gotten a layer to get her signature giving him half of everything for taking care of her the final year. This lady owned 8 homes in Carmel By The Sea. Of course the rest of the family refused to say anything. But this jerk keeps showing up with flowers at Christmas and Easter etc.

Yes, it's appalling how a death brings out the greed in people. This happened when my father died. Only two of us eight kids, myself being one and my sister being the other, didn't fight tooth and nail over his worldly goods. It made me sick to think that in their minds he'd been reduced to nothing but a dollar sign. My sis and I are also the only two that didn't show up for the reading of the will. (Coincidently none of the others are speaking to each other.)

Yes this is very true, when my uncle died, his mother (my grandmother was put out of the house where she and they had all lived their whole married lives, by his wife, just after the funeral. She had no rights in law at that time. Sorry about your grandmother...

Oh yes...actually, this is another thing that makes me wonder (with reference to your other question). It is very sick and thoughtless. But people can be so very cruel...
