AppleTV alternative?

I am looking for an alternative to AppleTV. I want to be able to watch Divx movies on my TV. Computer is in another room so I would like this solution to be wireless.

I hear from reading on some products that streaming can be choppy especially on HD quality files so it seems that a good solution is to buy a unit that has a drive in it where I can store a good number of movies.

Check Linksys and Netgear they have introduced or will introduce digital media adapters (receivers).
For best wireless performance use a pre-n router, be sure the receiver has also a pre-n receiver.
