the elements Fe, Co, and Ni are attracted to a magnet. Many different metal alloys are also. Some stainless steels are and even some that are not normally can be made so they are by deformation. Get a permanent magnet and check which parts of a stainless steel sink are magnetic.

This is something cool to try. (I used to do it as a kid; I know, I was a weird child) Take a medium sized magnet and hover it over a pile of dirt- you will be amazed at how many things get stuck to the magnet. Probably the metal properties in the soil.

any ferric ore and/or ferrous ore. steel , stain-less steel and many other "metals" and/or alloys are manufactured by Man , into the forms that you can readily recognise (kitchen sink , can , etc.) Aluminium is CLASSED as a metal , but a magnet WON`T stick to it!

Permeability is the key here. Everything has some degree of permeability, water, humans, iron, plastic, etc. So to answer your question it attracts all metal just some metals do not have very much permeability as in plastics, aluminum, you etc.
