What freedom, what democracy? There is no freedom and democracy is left in the US itself. Americans do not want to bring freedom to those countries all they want is their natural resources such as oil. US invaded Iraq under false pretenses and impudently keep pumping and stealing their oil.

Good question.

God forbid we focus on places like Africa or southeast Asia. There are horrible regimes and atrocities going on all over the world but for some reason the spot light is on places sitting on oil. Maybe that's why people worry so much about them, because they know we need them, and could care less about those other countries which give us nothing... We need to get off of this oil-based economy ASAP, and perhaps our energy and effort can go to many more places who desperately need our help from regimes just as despotic, if not more, as Venezuela or Iran.

Well, sir, you ask quite a naive question here. An economic system based on capitalism requires competitiveness, and oil most certainly provides an edge. The tricky part is wheter or not this is the sole reason, but it is definitely one reason. If we are competing in a global market, any edge we can gain is essential. I enjoyed your ignorant question, and your display picture is quite offensive.

Oh, and if I have to explain how spreading "democracy" and "freedom", as you put it, will benefit the United States in the long run, you don't really belong on the political forum...
Good day.

The U.S. always supports "Democracies" like Azerbaijan, Khazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Chile under Pinochet, Nicaragua under Somoza, Cuba under Batista, Iran under the Shah, Iraq under Huessein...

"Democracy"- a country that serves the interests of U.S. Foreign Policy and U.S. Corporate interests, no matter how much murder, torture and human rights violations occur.

No, we want them to be pro-American fascist dictatorships. The Bush Administration uses the words “freedom” and “democracy” just like Lenin and Castro did before they got power. Bush made it clear that the Iraqi people were free to elect anyone they wanted and have the government they wanted – as long as it agreed with what he wanted.

That's right dinamuk, the Republicans even screwed up the free oil thing. They're so pathetic they can't even figure out how to get oil out of the ground in the Middle East.
But they know how to buy a $50 bottle of water from Halliburton.

Actually Richard is on the spot.
Democracy in Bush's book means that the country is serving his personal interest.Look at Israel the illegal nation, cons say its a "true democracy".
American leaders overthrew democracy in Iran and put a brutal Shah in place and when the shah was overthrown and democracy was restored,in Bush's book the "democracy was gone"

Because evil and blood thirsty criminal duo of Bush and Cheney want their oil. Where is our democracy? Where is our freedom? Both of them cease to exist 7 years ago as Bush, Cheney and Republican Neocons came to power.

Heathens have no right to our Oil.Just because God accidentally left in their countries does not mean it should remain there.
If they would truly See The Light - and ship it to us free of charge -then there would be no need of all this bloodshed.
We are righteous and right.Always....

Greed has no political laws. It never will. Greed is greed.
We can always pay for it later. And we most likely will.
We now owe China for the war. What will we pay then if they call all our bills in tomorrow?
