'm 38 weeks pregnant, and for the past 4 days I've been constipated.. I know fun right. The 3 days previous to be being constipated I had really bad diarrhea. So today I feel like I have to make a bowel movement and nothing is coming. I felt super lightheaded earlier and I was just walking through my house and had a sharp pain in my lower abdomen for about 30 seconds. I dont believe I lost my mucus plug yet, Its a possibility that I havent noticed it though if it happened at night or something. Anyways I only had one pain like that like 5 min ago. I've heard contractions described and this didnt feel like a contracting motion kind of thing, it was just like a weird twingy pain. Is it possible that It is a contraction?

Start timing. If it's for real, it'll settle down to a regular interval, and it'll begin hurting. If it doesn't turn out to be "the time," get some miralax and mix it with your food or drink. It has no side effects, can't taste it, but you'll poop in 6 hours or so. Gently, easy, no diarrhea.

I bet you're getting ready to start labor soon. I had a friend who thought she was having a bowel movement but it ended up being a baby instead. No major contractions or any other signs. I have had four babies - all of mine came with major labor. I never lost my plugs until delivery. Best wishes.

It's very possible it was a contraction - however, until they get about 5 minutes apart for an hour - you should be free and clear. If you're worried - you should go to the labor & delivery center at your hospital. They'll check you out.

It is very possible. You should have your husband start timimg your contractions. When they are five minutes apart then you need to go to the hospital. Your little bundle of joy should be here anytime! Congrats!

first of all, more than likely if your water broke, you would know it even if you were sleeping (very wet bed upon awaking).....anyway, it may just be false labor or the beginnings of something more.......that said, if you have never had a child before, it might be best to call the er and see what they think......
good luck and congrats!

It's very common to not see your mucus plug come out. Or sometimes it doesnt until the time you deliver.
