you are looking for the 4th root of 16 and raising that number to the 5th power so16 ^ 5/4 =2^5=32

take the 4th root of 16, and then raise that number to the 5th power. You can also do it in the reverse order.

When a number is raised to a fraction, the numerator is the thing u raise it to, and the denominator is what root you take it to.

16 = 2^4

16^(5/4) = (2^4)^(5/4) = 2^{(4)(5/4)} = 2^5 = 32
