I have 3 to go to. One uni which will be a pub crawl, one at work which will be a pub crawl disguised as a dinner and one lunch with my mentors from my placement.

putting up the Christmas tree and decorating it, heating up the mulled wine, mince pies in the oven and the candles lit, Christmas Carols from Kings College on the radio, that's the start of Christmas for me.

I never go on my work night out - we have to pay - this year £35 for a crappy meal in a hotel watching our managers get wasted, no thanks.
Uni, at least they offer us cash but uni is miles away from home for me so I never bother.
edit:
I am not a total spoil sport, we do a great lunch at work where we all bring in a dish of food - there's about 70 of us from all over the globe so that is pretty good!
