YES but SLOW at default settings. If motherboard is capable, you can overclock fsb to 1333mHz. BUT that fast Core2 Duo deserves the right motherboard. Get a good ASUS or Gigabyte motherboard so that you could extract the most out of that Core2 Duo.

I have repaired many computers and have found E-Machines put fast processors as far as the fsb, is concerned, on a slow motherboard to cut costs. I call it bottlenecking. So yes it will work as long as the sockets match.
