Sure! I'd even be willing to pass on the free part and have it supported by taxes. Universal health care is long overdue in America...

There's no such thing as free health care. That's like saying you have free roads. Just because you don't pay by use doesn't make it free. And the candidates promising this "free" health care won't say how they're going to fund it. Edwards alluded to it (raise taxes) and the last time I checked, he wasn't doing very well in the democratic primaries (the side where people want "free" health care).
I also don't want my health care to function with the speed, service, and efficiency of the US Postal Service, the DMV, and airport security. These are all government run organizations, and the only place you can go for such services. I can wait 5 hours to get my car registered, but prefer not to wait that long to get stitches, or to get my leg in a cast.

Sicko is a flawed movie. The infant mortality rate in the United States is under 1%. You are telling me countries where their is maybe 1 hospital within a city, has a better rate than the United States is just plain disturbing.
Bringing Universal health care would not fix that problem.

No and it is a good thing that no one is proposing Universal Free Health Care in the USA. I do favor AFFORDABLE health care as proposed by the Democratic candidates. There is obvious a crisis in health care but the GOP has no plan at all to address the issue. At least the Demodrats have a plan.

Well most other first world countries have free universal health care, mostly all of Europe, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Australia, New Zealand. Yeah you guys better get it because you are lagging behind. So the United States along with east Asia, south Asia, Africa and parts of South America don't have it.
