this is why george washington became the 1st president of usa;
1.washington lead the army that won the american war of indepedence.
2. he was a strong leader and a brave general.

3. he truly believe AMERICA'S right to freedom.

NO, he was president because he helped win the Revolution and he was thought of as the most honest man out there. He gained American independence. Everyone agreed hands down that it should be George Washington. John Adams wanted to be president, but of course he was after Washington.

because he was a general of the american army at the time and when america won the war they decided they needed a leader, george washington seemed to be a great choice, he was claimed to be honest and a true man, with his military background he was sure to win the election
