No. The Brewers problem last year was inconsistent pitching, both starting and bullpen, and below average defense. They have done nothing so far to improve their pitching staff and in fact have lost their closer and a middle reliever, giving them two more holes to fill. And no, I do not consider Guillermo Mota a closer or a good pitcher. Replacing Estrada with Kendall is not an upgrade. Although maybe Kendall is better in the clubhouse. Both have alright offense, but both cannot throw out a runner if their life depended on it. They have a dangerous offense with Fielder, Braun, Hart, Hall, and Hardy all capable of putting up big numbers.
I could see the Cubs giving Milwaukee trouble again next year, and who knows if the Cardinals are going to suck again or not. And who knows if the Reds will improve with Dusty Baker in charge. I can see the Brewers being an 82-85 win team next year, but not quite ready to take it to the next level. If they can get a good starter who won't get hurt like Ben Sheets always does, improve on their defense somehow, and get a new closer and another reliever then maybe they will have enough to go deep in the playoffs.

Losing Cordero will hurt. But Melvin has proven to have a knack for finding Gems. 46 Mil for Cordero is too much.
Linebrink was a dissappointment, and isn't worth the money the white sox gave him. His era was over 5.
Trading Estrada was a great move. He was the worst catcher for throwing out runners (6%!!) Kendall is a 297 lifetime hitter, and will fill the gap until their AAA catcher is ready.
They have starting pitching to trade, so look for them to make some moves for some quality relievers. Also look for a new starting pitching lineup, as the young guys will be put in. Villineava, Parra, or Gallardo.... Probly 2 of those 3 will start.
Jenkins leaving gives money to spend, as he was to get 9 mil.
With all the young guys having another year of big league experience, they will be better next year. Having Ryan Braun all year might win another 5 games for them. Plus Hall and Weeks had subpar years last year.
Should be a better summer in 2008!

Yes; They were in the World Series in 1982, back when they were an American League team. They lost to St. Louis in 7 games.

I surely have a feeling that the Cubs are going to choke contained in the dep. series. and that i imagine the pink sox will fall to the angels contained in the first round. I surely have a feeling that its going to be the Rays and the Phillies. The Rays have what it takes and opposite to favourite perception, i don't think of that inexperience is going to be a mission. and that i imagine the Phillies will very last take care of to carry it jointly this three hundred and sixty 5 days.

No, because there is no "world seires".
If you're talking about THE WORLD SERIES, then maybe if they can shore up the bullpen, add another starter and sign Aaron Rowand to shore up the outfield.
