Name a Penn professor with whom you would like to study or conduct research and explain why.

I can't find out who they are
does anyone know a site where I find out more about some Penn professors, especially of the engineering school?

Start with the link below. The link on that page will direct you to the web sites for the various Engineering departments. You can find information on the faculty there.

I just looked at the application form and see that it is a "Short Essay" -- meaning they only want a few sentences. I think it would be OK to say that you do not have one specific professor with whom you want to work. You may want to look through the web pages and point out one or two & say that you find their work interesting.

Sounds more like a graduate admissions questions than an undergrad. So assuming that if you are trying to go to grad school, they are probably assuming you know the professors (and they aren't considering transfers). In any case, you should be able to go to the college's web site, go to the department page and look up the faculty. Most have at least some information about each one and what they have done or what their main focus is.

Look in the Penn web site, to start with. Most universities' sites have a section in which profs list their research interests. There may be a separate "research" section in the site for this purpose, or you may find their research interests listed with faculty contact information - you will have to fish around the site.

Faculty may provide journal article references (in which researchers publish their findings), tho these articles can be hard to follow without some univ level courses in the area in question. But you perhaps could find out more by googling relevant prof's names.

Loook at the catalog to get the names of the professors. Then go to either Who's Who in the East or American Men and Women of Science. Your library should have both. Anyone worth studying with should be listed.

i'm uncertain what your uncle has to do with any of this, yet your GPA and ACT/SAT scores are too low for PENN. colleges like PENN have thousands of four.0 young little ones with very intense attempt scores and that they settle for decrease than 10%. Your direction load isn't quite hard and your ECs are accepted. you could shop on with, yet you do not have lots of a shot. possibly visit a lesser college for u/g and then shop on with to PENN's MBA application later on. It somewhat basically concerns the place you visit grad college besides, so do no longer problem approximately it. sturdy success! Um.. positive then, there are an incredible variety of four.0 young little ones with ideas-blowing ECs and essays that aren't getting familiar to PENN, myself blanketed.

They shouldn't expect you to know any professors. Are you sure you're not looking at the GRADUATE application?
