Running CCleaner will remove browsing history, and other temporary files. You'll probably have to manually delete your personal info, as it is probably stored in various locations. Or, you could simply reformat the hard drive and get rid of everything.

The easiest thing is to either get a drive wiping program, like what Norton offers, or to reformat your computer, and then fill up the hard drive with stuff that is not personal.

Hi. The only really effective thing to do is replace the drive. ANY good determined hacker can get just about anything from a drive. If you are not paranoid about it, use something like 'Sure Delete'. http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,22393-order,1-page,1-c,alldownloads/description.html

you should be able to do a full system restore to get rid of all data. there are usually two choices in system restore be sure to chose the full restore
