As my question says, when I insert CDs into my laptop they do not play automatically neither does my PC ask me what I want to do (open in iTunes, WM, open to view files etc)

Having read up on this on Yahoo Answers I found you go to your "CD Drive" in My Computer........ only problem is, I DON'T HAVE A CD DRIVE..... only a hard drive in My Computer folder.

What to do???

If your computer can't find the CD drive, you need to re-install the drivers. Your computer can't do anything with a CD if it doesn't know that there is one.

Step a million: Insert sparkling CD into your CD participant. Step 2: understand that the message your CDchronic is telling you is real: The CD is unquestionably sparkling. Step 3: Use the burning application of your option to burn to the sparkling CD. Step 4: in case you haven't any longer have been given a burning application of selection, get one. Step 5: learn an academic on CD burning. Step 6: determine you're using a CD BURNER and not a CD participant.
