For any new game that were just release this year. I would say your computer is unfortunately too old to handle the graphics. A good video card is also really important to play video games.
You may have a good processor and a lot of ram but if you don't have a good graphic card to back it up, you won't go far i'm afraid.
You might be able to play some games if you put the game at the minimum setting. but I really doubt it would be worth your money.

To give you an idea:
I have a Pentium IV 3ghz PC with 2GB ram and 512MB ddr2 video card and this only allows me to play new games at a medium setting.

So, except if your going to play monopoly or something like that, you need to get a new computer :-)

Performance of games depend more on the graphics capability of your laptop. Your 1Gb RAM may help in increasing the shared memory for integrated graphics. That should be great for newer integrated graphics that could share 128Mb or higher. BUT it does not help old graphics that max out at 32 or 64Mb.

1,400 MHz = 1.4 GHz
I'd think that would work. More RAM is always beneficial.

But don't expect lots of effects or a very high frame rate. It really depends on the game...

Your gadget is quite ok... The Setup itself might help understand no be counted if or no longer your gadget meets the requirement... like the final time as quickly as I deploy GTA4, it mentioned that i'd desire to have Window Vista SP1... the factor is, it might help understand itself...
