I would like to play such games as "Half-Life 2" and...well, "Half-Life 2: Episode(s) 1/2/3, I guess. Where can I find powerful enough laptops to do this?

OH trust me there are powerful enough Laptops.
But you cant expect to play games that are so Ram Intensive and you must have a Proccessor fast enough to do it .
The Newer Core 2 Duo's with 2 gig of Ram will Play anything you trow at it and do it well.
Most gamers expect to play the newest games that are graphic intensive and not max out the Ram.
512 is not enough and in some cases 1 gig isn't either.
