My idea for a book is this guy has found a cure for a disease but he is killed and goes to Heaven. Many people are hurt by this disease so his cure would be truly heroic. In Heaven there is supposedly this potion that makes you able to go back to earth but no-one has ever found it so this guy goes looking for it. Of course, the Heaven would be fictional but...how do you like it?

It's an unusual idea, and that in itself is an asset. I've heard of dead protagonists before, but normally they have to complete something to get to heaven, or to leave Earth.

On thing you'll have to figure out if your hero is in heaven is what he's risking on this quest for the potion. Presumably he can't be killed, so what does he have to lose?

hm. Maybe better if you set in an alternate world/fantasy world to make both the disease and the heaven more believable. And maybe something more in-depth than a potion too. It's a nice idea, though. Go for it! (n . n)v
