We are called Transmen or Female to Males (FtMs). We are not women turning into men. We are already men on the inside, we are just correcting our bodies to match our minds.

Besides Gender Therapy, Hormone (Testosterone) Therapy, Legal Name Changes... the surgeries* consist of:

Hysterectomy (removal of the uterus)
Total abdominal Hysterectomy
Total Vaginal Hysterectomy
Laparoscopically Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy
Oophorectomy (removal of the ovaries)
Bilateral Salpingo Oophorectomy

Options for Top Surgery:
Double Incision Mastectomy
Bilateral Mastectomy
Keyhole (Mastectomy)
Peri-areolar (Mastectomy)
Breast Reduction (some elect this option)

Options for Lower Surgery:
Phalloplasty
Metoidioplasty
Centurion

*Most, but not all FtMs will have at least one surgical procedure in his lifetime related to his transition, if not several of them. However, it is important to note that many FTMs do not undergo surgery due to costs, health reasons, or personal reasons.

No. Biology it is impossible for a woman to turn into a man. There are certain procedures that may give her the appearance of being a man . Hormones treatments and plastic surgery doctors can create a penis from the tissue of other organs but it will only partially function ,she is still biologically not a man , having testicles , and producing testosterone and so forth.

I think it starts with a breast reduction, and you can have soemthing done if the person wanted a less womanly shape eg fat removed from bum hips etc. Then a year is left, and if the person is completely sure then they can have ovaries removed and the whole features down 'there' put in if the person decides. That's why a year is left, because it is so permanent. I think also hormone patches to make a beard if the person wants and an adams apple can be put in the throat.Lips can also be like de-plumped and hairline put back. It's a complicated and expensive procedure that is not to mention awfully painful. Therapy is probs needed before and after aswell i should think.

I imagine that it could be done, but it would probably be VERY expensive. Breast reduction would be easy enough, but putting a penis where a vagina was must be awfully complicated. I would think for it to be successful, they'd have to remove the entire reproductive system of the woman, then add the penis and testicles from a very recently deceased man. Whether or not the penis would function sexually is uncertain. I'm sure they could connect the penis to the urinary tract, so it would serve the "elimination" function, but I don't know if it would be able to become erect or ejaculate. That's one for the doctors. I've heard it jokingly referred to as an "Addadictomy", but it is an interesting question. Putting one there is one thing, but will it work ? That's another. You can't fake an erection. Asthetically, the "new man" will LOOK like one, but future partners may have to settle for receiving oral gratification, and it won't be much fun for the "new man" if he can't experience an orgasm because his new member doesn't work. I would put a LOT of thought into doing this.

Yes, but you have to be really, really sure that is what you feel you need. It is a long and painful journey! First you have to have male hormones for a year or two, along with therapy and, as the other person said, breast reduction. If you want to know more, just type your question in your browser. I've met a lot of men going through this, and one woman, plus, I've seen this stuff on Discovery Health etc.....They do most of those surgeries in Trinity Colorado. I use to live in Co. Springs and that is how I met most of the people that were doing this. But don't do it if you are not sure. Okay?

The procedure usually starts with Hormone injections. Two types of surgery must be done (top and bottom). Top surgery to remove the female breasts and make the chest look more masculine. Bottom surgery to form the female genitalia into male looking genitalia. It's usually quite expensive, lengthy procedures, and lengthy recovery. There are lots of shows on tv that deal with this subject. Good luck on your information quest.

What's a "full man"? Sounds very abstract for a surgical intervention.

Most FTM transgenders who go the surgical route do not elect phalloplasty, or the surgical construction of a penis, because of issues with risk, cost, and verisimilitude. Most do have bilateral mastectomies, may have ovarectomies or htsterectomies to reduce female hormone production, and the rest is done with hormone therapy.

The first step is usually testosterone therapy, where they are given male hormones to get more muscle, body hair, lower voice etc. usually after there is the double mastectomy where the surgery is done to remove the breasts.
The final (optional) thing is the gender reassignment surgery where they fashion a penis for the man. This is usually done using skin grafts etc etc.
A bunch of ftm transgenders dont have the last surgery mainly because its not very developed and the scarring from the skin grafts is not very attractive

No, it isn't possible for a woman to 'turn into a man with surgery'; but it IS possible for a transsexual man to do so.

The surgical procedures involved include bilateral mastectomy, hysterectomy, oophorectomy, vaginal obliteration, metioidoplasty, and phalloplasty, but not all transsexual men have all these procedures.

Yes. I saw this on a Television documentory about transexuals. First they have to go through mental health counseling and testing to make sure they are okay to begin the transformation. Then the woman is put on male hormones which has the same effect on her as a teen boy going through puberty. Her voice will deepen, body fat redispostion and hair will begin to grow on chest and face. If the woman elects to have surgery, she can have her breast tissue removed and have a penile implant attached as welll as testicles. However, it is very expensive.
