I would rather write the book quickly - but would prefer to have a loose framework of (tutor?) help, perhaps by living near a local college, etc., and I would be prepared to leave home to do this, for a short while; anything from a fortnight to two months - as short or long as it takes me.

There's a lot of useful information on the web too, you might surprise yourself with how much you could do that way. It'd certainly complement your work with a tutor. I'm writing a website to be a complete resource for writers. It's not finished yet but there's till good info there, and it's all free. www.fiction-writers-mentor.com. Another option might be a writing holiday - there's info on my website.
Good luck with it - I wish you all the best.

Depending on where you live I suggest you join a literary group.
You will get lots of ideas.
To write the book quickly you will have to be darn sure of your subject.

I suppose writing books doesn"t require any external influence...everything(or the majority of things you need) is in your head, you should only find it ( as for me, no one can be taught to write or to be creative)...but some help could be a good thing to start with:)
