As a follow up:
Would you support a politician if his policy position included the criminalization of abortion but also mandates a 15% mandatory increase in federal taxation to support state-run orphanges/academies.
Foster care programs, overidden with abuse as they are, would be ended and the state would take direct control. For orphans or the children of convicted criminals, this would be the first alternative.
Curriculum would include academic courses of study and vocational/technical courses of study. For interested applicants, paramilitary training could also be integrated into their education for law-enforcement/military career aspirations (e.g the Boy Scouts, Eagle Scouts etc).
Would you support that?

"I've never heard of something so authoritarian. You might as well make them into slaves."
This is authoritarian but forcing women to bear children that they do not want to bear isn't?
The vast majority of incarcerated criminals come from low-income homes with non-existant family structures. Being imprisoned for crimes "duly convicted" is the exception to the 13th Amendment's prohibition against slavery, the exact text of which is:
"Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime where of the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."
So then, we already enslave them...don't you support politicians who promise to be "tough on crime?" What do you think about "Three Strikes" laws?

The model for this hypothetical politician was Adolf Hitler.
The hypothetical program was a loose description of the Nazi War-orphan's program which eventually became incorporated into the larger Hitler Youth program.
