I think your question is a paradox. How can I think Moveon.org has more control than I think they do? I think they control the Dems exactly as much as I think they do.

As a private organization the can support whomever they like. If that happens to be Democrats so be it. I wouldn't go much farther with than support only. I wonder how much control GOPAC has on the Republicans? You might want to check that out.

The only time I ever even hear about it is from Republicans. That's how big a part it plays in my life. Apparently it's a really big deal for GOP'ers though.
