My sister is 13.
She's not allowed on the internet.
She can't have a cell phone.
She can't have an iPod.
She can't sit up front in the car.
She can only go to parties that end before 7:30 PM.
Her bed time is 8 PM.
She can only watch PG rated movies.
Can't wear tanks, short skirts, short shorts, heels, or make up.
I don't know why she'd want to, though.
Should I talk to my mom about how she's growing up?
I mean, my sister comes to me at the end of the day saying that her life is horrible.
She's too afraid to tell our mom about it, should I?

Thats only going to make her want to do those things behind your Mom's back.
Eg:
Going on 18+ sites.
Getting a mobile
Listening to music with swear words
Won't ever wear her seat belt in a car
Go clubbing and get drunk
Going to bed late
Watching p0rn.
She'll probably become a real tart wearing all those things and wearing too much makeup.
Sorry, if I offended you its just thats what happend to my Mum's friends 13 year old.

I think you should talk to your mom about this she is going up but some of the stuff your mom does I think is good for her like she shouldn't wear short shorts or anything that makes her look to much like a hooker,and parties I think on school days 7:30 pm is good but on weekend 9:30 or 10:00 so long there is a adult supervision for the party. Also pg movie is all she is supposed to watch until she's 17 so I agree with your mom on that one, and bed time so long she in her room 10 pm should be her bed time. I think it would be ok to wear make up. Basically you all need to sit and talk about this and maybe make some compromise on this.

Those are strict rules. I'm 12, and my parents are SO much looser than that! I can't have a cell phone and I gave my sister my iPod, but lots of times my mom lets me go to bed at 12!
I think you should talk to your mother. I mean, your sister might get so upset she could get depression. Tell your mother that she is 13, and not some 5 year old. Tell her that she should at least be able to use the internet and get a mp3 player and go to bed at 10!
I hope your mom treats your sister like a 13 year old, not a 4 year old.

Omg! Im 10
I can go on the internet for like 4 hrs a day
I have a cell phone
I have an ipod!
I sit at the front-always
some parties ive been end at midnight
I go to bed at 10.00
I can watch rating 12 movies
I can weat those heels and make up i wear loads
So there are the differences, be strong! tell ur mom!!

talk to yoyoyoyoyoyour mom, u and ur sister. tell her that u, and ur sister both feel she is getting old enough to have a change. ur mom is probably babying your sister because she is afraid to loose her. is she the youngest in the family? if so, she probably wants her to be her baby girl forever, even though she knows she cant. i think that telling her about how u and ur sister feel will show ur mom how grown up the 2 of u can be. be calm, and don't raise your voice no matter what. and if she says no, don't beg. just ask at a better time

Yea. She NEEDS to bend the rules a bit. NO INTERNET?? are you kidding? I would seriously get into a depretion if i was your sister.
Your mom just doesnt want her daughters to become teenage sluts thats all, but not being able to wear a tanktop is going overboard.

try talking to your mum in a suttle sort of way dont jump in feet first and ask why is my sister being wrapped in cotton wool was your sister ever ill as a youngster maybe this is why your mum is so over protective of her would you be prepared to take your young sister out with you to let her have some freedom bed time at 8pm for a thirteen yr old is a bit ott she should be allowed up untill 9.30 pm monday to friday and 10.30 at weekends good luck with this one it isnt going to be easy

You should definitely talk to your mom. When I was 10 or 11 I got to do most of the stuff that she can't.

WELL SHE IS ONLY 13 THE RULES ARE KINDA STRAIGHT BUT LOOK AT IT FROM YOUR MOMS SIDE MAYBE SHE CAN CUT YOUR SIS A LITTLE SLACK AND THEN MAYBE MOM DOES NOT WANT HER TOO GROW UP BEFORE HER TIME U NO, THER IS GOOD AND BAD REASONS FOR THIS STILL U CAN HAVE A CHAT WITH YOUR MOM TRY TO REASON WITH HER OK GOOD LUCK
