An admissions committee is usually made up of the dean or his appointee of the college, some instructors and other personnel who are charged with reviewing applicants' credentials for possible admission to the school. One of the requirements with the grades transcript, personal recommendations and other data may be the essay.Often when there are more candidates then there are openings, the ability to express ones self in writing may be most important in the admissions procedure.

Random people, usually many distinguished members of the faculty, however you can be sure that someone untrained or uneducated will not be on there.
