Most of the time I have them on during the day. I keep them on because I have dogs that always want in or out. It makes it so much easier to keep the shoes on. But I am having my carpets cleaned next week. EVERYONE will be taking their shoes off at the door. Slippers are much more comfortable.

I grew up in the country we had 10 acres and the dirt was blood red. We had very light carpet in the house. So I had to take shoes off to even come in the house.
Heck my mom made me wash my feet sometimes after playing out in the dirt or riding my ATV. One summer she hosed me down in teh driveway because I got to to a big mud pit on my ATV and was covered from helmet to shoes in stinky river mud. That was so much fun though.
I now have light carpet and yes everyone takes there shoes off in the house.

yes when convenient. inputs to the decision process include level of dirt or other material dragged in from outside that is on my shoes, the availability of a carpet or rug to clean off the bottom of my shoes, the custom of the homeowner, the availability of slippers sandals or other indoor footwear, the cleanliness of the indoor environment. If marginal benefit exceeds marginal cost, do it. shame or guilt about negative externalities should be included in the marginal cost calculation.

First thing I do when I get home is kick my shoes off. Then my purse goes soaring over the living room couch.

As soon as I'm in the house my shoes are the first thing to come off then all the rest. I hate contraptions.

No, my family keeps a very dirty house and if I took my shoes off my socks would get filthy, plus they keep it freezing in the winter so I have to wear shoes just to keep my feet warm.

If you want your carpet to be free of dog poo and germs it is a normal thing to remove what ever you wear on you feet out doors. If you are care free and fancy free You will not bother.
