If someone burns a church because they hate religion, it is just as burned as if they burn it because they are crazy or trying to get their jollies off for any other reason. It is just as wrong regardless of the reason. That is presuming you would even know their true reason.

You won't get far. For all church arsons to count as hate crime, it would have to be a federal law. And the federal law does not have jurisdiction over local churches or local authorities.

Second, most local authorities would never go for it. Why? Because an 8 year old playing with matches has no reason to be charged with a hate crime, though it's still technically arson.

Its like saying all homicides should be hate crimes. Sure, you could someone had to hate them to kill them, but not all crimes are that cut-and-dried. Neither are arsons.

Sounds pretty reasonable to me. However, some arsons are just that; for the love of the fire. Has nothing to do with hate at all. Just a thought.

I'd wait til the evidence is in.

You have apparently already convicted the people who burned down that Mormon church, even though no has yet suggested it was arson, except you.

Therefore you are the only hate monger I've seen on this topic.
